The  North Face Switchback Trail Running Shoe eats up the miles through an innovative cleat system that adapts to fill all of your traction needs. Two interchangeable cleat lengths supply a tenacious grip in all trail conditions from bone dry to heavy mud, slush, packed snow and ice. A radical new technology enables you to change cleat patterns quickly and easily with just a quarter turn of the included cleat wrench. The recessed soft spikes are intended for general road and dry conditions. The Scorpion Spike is designed for trail running in severe conditions such as mud, slush, packed snow and ice. The master designers at TNF didn't just throw cleats randomly on the bottom of a traditional trail running shoe. They studied runners and placed cleats in anatomical positions on the heel, front metatarsal, and toe off regions to maximize traction.

Bottom Line: If you want to take a day off from running, hit the golf course in the Switchbacks. If you golf like we do you'll be spending most of your day in the woods anyway.

JC Castillo P (1):
I've used a number of trail shoes during the last 2 decades and I can tell you these shoes have been the greatest, toughest, and most comfortable shoes I have used. In Guatemala (my native country) I love to climb volcanoes, and the Switchback shoes have been something out of this world! :>) They are worth every cent.
