The Kelty
Streamside 2 Camping Tent. The two pole, freestanding, rectangular
shaped Kelty Streamside Camping Tent offers excellent space and comfort
for the backpacker or car camper. The Streamside camping tent also has
lots of mesh for superior ventilation and viewing. Kelty Streamside
Tent Features: Two pole free-standing. Full rainfly, large mesh ceiling
and ventilating window panels.
The
North Face Slickrock Ultralight Camping Tent (2 Person, 3-Season).
This backpacking Tent is by far the slickest camping tent in the North
Face arsenal, and an innovative approach to reducing weight. The
designer of the Slickrock tent envisioned summer bike touring and light
hiking until Conrad Anker took the Slickrock to 20,000 feet and proved
it could withstand an assault of high alpine environment. The Slickrock
compression stuffsack reduces entire shelter to the size of a loaf of
bread for easy packing.
The
North
Face Talus 23 Camping Tent (2 person, 3-season). The Talus 23
camping tent is compact and perfect for you and and a mate. With
the Talus 23, you’ll each enjoy the convenience of separate doors and
separate vestibules. Floor space is precious, so there are internal
pockets to keep your stuff organized. The Talus 23 camping tent
is a great value.
The
North
Face Roadrunner 2 Camping Tent. For biking, backpacking and
adventure travel requiring lightweight, compact shelter, the two-person
Roadrunner 2 camping tent can't be beat! Here's what one
reader-reviewer had to say:
The best of North Face
Neal (3):
This particular tent I used for several days in Boundary Waters.
Pounding rains and winds. It leaked two or three drops through the fly
where a velcro tab was sewn. I have now sealed the tabs. Probably the
best all round shelter to have if you are going to own just one.
Lightweight – a real plus for what you get. The fly is great in terms
of windows and ventilation. Pole pockets are a real plus when it's
raining and you are setting up by yourself.
The
Kelty
Vortex Camping Tent. The Vortex 3-Season (2 person) tent is Kelty's
best selling tent. Its vaulted two-pole dome is a little less spacious
than the Cyclone. However it is the absence of a third pole that makes
this camping tent the obvious choice for the weight-conscious
adventurer. But like the Cyclone, The Vortex has two separate doors and
large vestibules to boot. So don't let the space issue scare you one
bit. After all, The Vortex is their best selling tent. Can 4 trillion
people be wrong? Bottom Line: For the somewhat weight-conscious
adventurer who wants to split the difference between a smaller, lighter
tent and a roomier (yet heavier) tent.
The
Marmot
AT Camping Tent. The Marmot AT, 2 person, 3 season tent is a super
lightweight shelter for when you're counting ounces. The maximum weight
of this two person camping tent is only 4lbs, 6oz, and it packs up to
17" x 5 ". Rated Killer Value in Buyer's Guide issue of Outside
Magazine. Bottom Line: Great lightweight shelter. Killer value!
The
Sierra
Designs Orion AST Camping Tent. Sierra Designs lightest
freestanding tent, the Orion weighs only five pounds, but its steep
side walls, rectangular floor plan and mesh ceiling give it an airy
feel. The easy-to-pitch Orion also has a Clip-Loc at the intersection
of its two large poles, making it incredibly stable.
The
Kelty
Zen Camping Tent. The Kelty Zen 3-Season Tent is a huge hit with
backpackers and bicycle tourers alike for its amazing sub-5 pound
weight. This tunnel-style, two-person caming tent is certainly compact.
But a tall rear arch provides excellent internal volume. And it
includes a roomy vestibule to stow your gear.
The
Marmot
Hypno Camping Tent. The Marmot Hypno 2 person tent proves to be one
of the lightest 2 person camping tents available. If you have a small
bladder the Hypno tent includes two separate vestibules and a two door
access, no need to crawl over your tent partner anymore.
The
North
Face Kestrel Camping and Backpacking Tent. The North Face Kestrel
is a superior freestanding dome tent for backpacking in stormy weather.
Because of its free standing vestibule, the Kestrel tent and fly can be
moved around without stakes. The North Face Kestrel 2 person 3 season
camping tent features: Fully continuous pole sleeves and pole pockets
increase structural integrity and ease pitching.
The
Big
Agnes Seed House Camping Tent. The Big Agnes Seed House Tent is a
lightweight backpacking and general camping tent. Big Agnes was able to
build a stout little tent that sets up almost on its own. The "hub"
pole design makes for a strong, lightweight, easy to use shelter (see
larger image). The Big Agnes Seed House offers excellent cross
ventilation with full mesh tent walls. This 3-season camping tent
sports a clear plastic window in the vestibule door that allows you to
keep an eye on changing weather conditions without even touching a
zipper.
The
Kelty
Dart 2 Camping Tent. The Kelty Dart 2 Ultralight Tent: if you're
planning on bringing a partner, you better be lovers. The Dart 2 is a
tight squeeze at best. But there is an ample vestibule for gear
storage. Although ultralight single-walled camping shelters have a
reputation for accumulating condensation in humid climates, the Dart
has proven to be the most breathable in its class. And at a mere 2.75
pounds, you'll hardly know it's on board. Bottom Line: Light and fast
travel at its absolute extreme.
The
North
Face Tadpole Camping Tent (2 person, 3-season) is an ultralight
that's designed for efficiency with an excellent weight-to-space ratio,
giving it a unique appearance. Mesh panels in the canopy and a mesh
D-shaped door provide high and low air circulation for excellent
climate control. Enjoy an extra roomy vestibule where you and
your partner can store footwear. Bottom Line: Sleek, slim, & trim.
The
Kelty
Tao Camping Tent. The Kelty Tao 3-Season Tent is essentially a
freestanding-style alternative to the tunnel-style Zen. This 2-person
camping shelter provides ease-of-use in the form of color-coded pole
clips to steer you through when your brain is running in neutral. And
like the Zen, it offers aluminum poles at a fiberglass price.
